Indian Power Transmission players to forge QHSE Charter
- SANQALP to be launched during GRIDTECH 2019
- Sterlite Power, Tata Projects & Unitech among the founding members
- Charter to benchmark and institutionalize Quality & HSE practices in India
New Delhi, 01st Apr 2019: Sterlite Power has joined hands with India’s leading power transmission players to announce common benchmark practices for QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) in the sector. These benchmarks will focus on institutionalizing Quality and HSE practices. This charter will operate under the jointly created forum SANQALP (Safety and Quality Association of Leading Partners) which will be launched during the Gridtech 2019.
India requires about Rs 2.7 lakh crore till FY22 to build the additional electricity transmission system in the country, according to the National Electricity Plan (NEP) on transmission. The charter will help streamline the commissioning process to build reliable and quality assets while ensuring safety in each step at work.
